Leadership, CAP hours and Volunteering

Steveston Society of Children’s Centres believes that the whole community benefits when our programs have community volunteers.  We have three possible streams of volunteering options for local youth and students.

Leadership program - Our leadership program offers youth ages 13 - 18 volunteer work experience opportunities.  Youth must commit to working through the school year, one afternoon per week or one afternoon every second week.  Tasks will include running activities for children, cleaning the classroom and preparing classroom materials.  At the end of the school year, youth who have completed the leadership program are offered a one-time honorarium in recognition of their commitment. If you are interested in joining our Leadership program, please email [email protected] with your name, phone number, resume, and state the location and day of the week you would like to complete your leadership hours.

CAP hours -  We are happy to host high school students in volunteering in our programs to complete CAP hours.  Many CAP students prefer to complete their hours during their high school pro-d days or early dismissals, reducing the need for a regular weekly time commitment.  Please email [email protected] with your name, phone number, resume, total hours required, the proposed dates for your volunteering and the location where you would like to complete your CAP hours.  If available, please include any CAP hours information and tracking sheet from your highschool.

Volunteering - Community volunteers are welcomed in our program. Please contact [email protected] with your name, phone number, resume and the location you would like to complete your volunteering.  A criminal record search and vaccine record is required from our volunteers.
